Welcome to my blog!
My name is Madi and I am a current education major at Chapman University. This blog has served as a vessel of communication for me and now I claim it as a way for you to meet other humans. I would love for this blog to be a safe space where anyone can explore diversity within themselves and others.
Throughout this blog, I explore extraordinary writers and thinkers that transcend the boundaries of traditional race, gender, religious, and other ideologies. Individuals like Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie and Chika Unigwe have opened my eyes to the power of words. Maya Angelou’s poem Still I Rise has served as a constant reminder to dig deeper and get to know people for who they are. My goal is to discover who we are and how we see each other when the identity tags that are projected onto us are wiped away.
The starfish story has served as an inspiration as I have discovered diverse cultures. I am just a woman who wants nothing more than to be the best person that I can. To humanize people that are not given the chance to show their beautiful souls to the world because society decides that they are not worth the time. We all have a story to tell and it is our job to listen. My blog will explore some of the many pieces that have inspired me to find the humanity in everyone.
